Before and during the American Revolution newspapers were few and news was spread with pamphlets. The authors of these pamphlets were called pamphleteers.
The most famous pamphlet of the time was "Common Sense," authored by Thomas Paine. In this pamphlet Paine rebuked the monarchy of Great Britain and challenged its authority. This pamphlet was also the first literary work to call for independence of the colonies from Great Britain.
Once again we are faced with a government that dictates authority over us as if it were a monarchy; stripping away the states' rights and individuals' rights specifically described in, and guaranteed by, our Constitution.
The founders of the United States were deliberate in their intent that the purpose of that first Constitution of the United States was to limit the power that a federal government would have over the people.
Due to the oppression that the federal government now imposes upon us and the indifference; even defiance it shows towards our constitution and the rights guaranteed us in it; it is once again time for Americans to resist this control and regain the independence and rights that were so valiantly fought for by our forefathers.
